I remember from 7th Grade learning a lot about the medical procedures that they used during the Middle Ages, which seemed quite disturbing. I would enjoy comparing and contrasting the medicine in the Middle Ages in Europe and the medicine in the Islamic World. Also, I vaguely remember learning about perhaps Charlemagne with the illuminated manuscripts (not totally sure if those two are related). I would like to learn more about the Gothic architecture and the Crusades. I know that the reading we did explained somewhat the role of Christianity, but I would like to learn more about it, and how it affected the lifestyle whether it's feudalism or another government form.

I remember learning about the Middle Ages in 7th grade, but I don't really remember anything that I learned. I know about the Black Death and how they used really bad medical techniques (cutting buboes open), but other than that I don't remember anything. I think that Joan of Arc lived during the Middle Ages so I would like to learn about her as well.

I remember that the Dark Ages were not necessarily "Dark", but it was just that there was no written records or any type of recordings from that time period. I also remember about the Bubonic Plague that occurred during that time. Also i vaguely remember someone names Ibn Buttata, but i cannot remember what he did. I would like to learn more about the Bubonic Plague and maybe a little bit more about Ibn Buttata, at least just enough so i know who he is and what he did

I know a little bit about the Middle Ages in Europe, mostly from seventh grade history class. I know that many areas had a feudal system (with a king, nobles, and peasants) and I know that there wasn't a whole lot of technological or medical advance during this time. I would like to learn a little about Medieval art and literature, and maybe compare it to the art and literature of other cultures at the time. Also, learning a little about the Vikings would be good too.

I remember a lot of Medievil travelers from 7th grade. For example, Marco Polo, Zheng He. I also remember a plague called the black death that caused these giant blisters called buboes on the skin and that the black death killed like 80% of the population (or something like that). I know from the reading that Arab cultute influenced things like Gothic architecture but I would like to know even more specific ways that Arab culture has influenced the Middle Ages. I also want to know what kind of medical treatments they had during this time. If I am correct, this is the time when they used leech treatments and things like that.

I know we learned about the Middle Ages a few years ago, but I don’t really remember much of it. I know that they had some pretty bad medical techniques and that the dark ages weren't really 'dark' but there just isn't a lot know about it because they didn’t keep written records. I want to learn more about what family life was like and how people viewed loyalty to family verses loyalty to other things.

In 7th grade we learned about the Middle Ages, but I do not remember much. It is also called the Dark Ages. I know that Gothic architecture came about during the middle ages. And that Christianity was the leading religion. I would like to learn more about the interactions with the church and the state.

I remember a few things about the Middle Ages.Their government was a monarchy and they had the feudal system with the peasants being the lowest class. A plaque, called the black death, came through and wiped out a big percentage of the population. The technological advances in Western Europe were limited at this time and their medical practices were quite primitive. The vikings sailed along the coast and raided the coastal towns. Leif Ericson was one of the vikings. I would like to learn more about the vikings.

I'd like to learn about a few things in the middle ages.
1)The Crudsades. My understanding of them isn't great, but I think it illustrates the growing influence of Europe and the almost declining Arabs states.
2)How the vikings affected Europe. The Vikings seem interesting to me and I'd like to know more about them.
(http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/interactive/games/viking_quest/index.shtml) [An intresting link I found]
3)How the wars between France and England shaped modern Europe, and also how the pope and the Christian Church thought about the wars.
That's all I have.

I know a little about the Middle Ages that I remember, like other people, from 7th grade history class. For example, the Crusades, the confusion and chaos caused by the Black Plague, and I think a little about Charlemagne. I would like to learn more about what the relationship between religion and politics was in that time period, since it's probably very different from nowadays.

I remember learning about the architecture during the Middle Ages. That was the time that large extravagant churches were being built, including Gothic architecture rising out in the late middle Ages. i want to learn more about what happened, all the actual history is really vague to me. I would like to learn about the Crusades and how the church played a role in people's lives and beliefs.

I remember I had a class on the middle ages, but don't remember much in particular about it. I do remember the agriculture was based mostly off a lord's peasants working the land, and paying taxes to the lord. I also remember the kingdoms, despite being at war often, intermarried a lot.

I only remember a few things about the Middle/Dark ages. I remember the Crusades, and the disgusting medical procedures. We mainly learned about Europe during the middle ages. I would like to know more about the Africa during this time period also.

I do not know much about the Middle Ages. In 7th grade we study them- we made videos about travelers and events going on in the time. I would like to know more about the diseases that in the Middle Ages, and how it spread and killed so many people.

I don't know a lot about the middle ages. while doing the reading it said the start of the middle ages was around the death of the Roman emperor Theodosius, I was wondering who he was. Also, why are there different views on the start/end times? What was significant in between, for example the start which used to be considered 400 to what is now considered the start 450?

I know we did a project on the crusades. Other than that i dont remember too much. I believe the dark ages were called that because there wasnt a lot of technology. THere were also plagues of like the bubonic disease or something like that.

I would like to freshen my knowledge of the period of time. I dont really have questions because I dont know too much about it, Ill have more later.

Question:

Why did the king let the war of the roses happen?

I know very little about the Middle ages. In 7th grade we did a very large unit on it, but since then I have forgotten almost everything that i had learned. One thing from the Islamic world that i remember was a library that held lots of important books.
